Extra urgent dental appointments now available across Cheshire and Merseyside.

People across Cheshire and Merseyside can now benefit from thousands of extra urgent dental appointments, thanks to new government funding.

In February 2025, the government committed to providing 700,000 additional dental appointments nationwide for people needing urgent or unplanned care. NHS Cheshire and Merseyside has been allocated 46,600 of these extra appointments.

These appointments are now being delivered through 124 local dental practices across the region—about one-third of all practices providing NHS dental care locally.

How to Get an Appointment

If you need urgent dental treatment, you should contact the Cheshire and Merseyside dental helpline on 0161 476 9651. This should be your first point of contact for help accessing emergency or unplanned appointments.

You can also contact local dental practices directly to ask if they are offering any of the additional sessions.
