April – June 2025
In this quarter, we heard from 545 people about their experiences of local health and care services. Much of the feedback, as in previous quarters, focused on GP and hospital services. People continue to report positive experiences of care and staff, but access to services—particularly getting appointments and timely support—remains the most common concern. Communication and digital exclusion also continue to be recurring issues raised across multiple services.
Our highlights this quarter:
- 📢 Outreach: We took part in 55 engagement sessions, speaking with 1,484 people across Halton, including at every GP practice in the borough.
- 👥 Volunteers: Eight volunteers gave 44 hours of support through outreach and reviewing patient materials.
- 📬 Public Enquiries: We responded to 66 enquiries, with NHS dental access remaining the top issue.
- 📶 Digital Inclusion: We supported 33 people with free mobile data SIMs through the National Databankscheme.
- 🏥 Hospital Feedback: We shared insights from our Listening Events at Warrington & Halton Hospitals with NHS Trusts and system partners.
- 🏡 Enter & View Visits: Reports were published for St Luke’s Care Home and Oak Meadow Intermediate Care Unit, highlighting good practice and suggested improvements.
- 📻 Radio Halton: Our monthly show featured guests from the Halton ICB and Halton Cancer Support Centre, alongside service updates and community campaigns.
A few Outcomes this quarter:
- ✅ Hospital signage and parking improvements: Following feedback shared at the MWL Patient Experience Council, the Trust committed to improving signage and reviewing Blue Badge parking.
- ✅ Bridgewater Treatment Rooms Review: We raised issues with local Treatment Rooms. The Trust is now conducting a deep dive into the service, and we’ve offered to support further patient outreach.
- ✅ ICS-level action: At system-wide meetings, we shared feedback on access, digital exclusion, and inequalities, ensuring that local voices influence strategic planning.
