Oak Meadow Enter & View report

We visited Oak Meadow on 17 March 2025 as part of our regular Enter & View programme, where we speak with residents and staff, and observe care being provided.

We found a warm and welcoming environment with friendly staff who were clearly dedicated to supporting residents during their stay. Residents we spoke with told us they felt well cared for and praised the kindness of staff. The centre works closely with GPs, therapists, and community teams to support rehabilitation and safe discharge.

While the centre was clean and generally well-run, we did notice some areas that could be improved. These included minor maintenance issues, plain corridors, and a need for better support with individual preferences—such as specific dietary needs or gender preference for personal care. Some staff and residents also mentioned the need for more activities.

Following our visit, Oak Meadow’s management have already started making improvements. This includes appointing a regular maintenance person one day a week, upgrading furniture in the garden, installing a new nurse aid system, and improving how dietary and care needs are recorded.

We’d like to thank the management, staff and residents, at Oak Meadow for welcoming us and being so open with their views.
