The Beeches Medical Centre report

Healthwatch Halton carried out an Enter and View visit to The Beeches Medical Centre on 22 October 2025 as part of our wider programme of GP practice visits across the borough. During the visit we observed the environment, spoke with patients attending clinics, and reviewed how access, communication and information were working in practice.

Overall, the Beeches presented as a small but well-kept surgery with a calm atmosphere and a caring staff team. Patient feedback reflected a mix of experiences, with strong praise for staff and care once accessed, alongside frustrations about appointment availability and telephone access.

Key highlights

  • Bright, clean and welcoming environment with good accessibility
  • Patients consistently described staff as kind, respectful and genuinely helpful
  • Flu clinic observed to be well organised with smooth patient flow
  • Ongoing patient concerns about booking appointments, particularly by phone
  • Limited facilities, including a single patient toilet, noted as a constraint
