Oaks Place Surgery – Enter and View visit
Healthwatch Halton carried out an Enter and View visit to Oaks Place Surgery as part of our programme of GP practice visits across the borough. The surgery is based within the Health Care Resource Centre, sharing facilities with other services. During the visit we spoke with patients and observed how the environment, appointment systems and information displays were working
Patients shared mixed experiences. Many spoke positively about staff and the care they receive once seen, while others raised concerns about appointment access, communication and confidence using digital systems.
Key highlights
- Patients frequently described staff as friendly, welcoming and supportive
- The environment was clean, accessible and generally dementia-friendly
- Appointment access and telephone waiting times were raised by several patients
- Mixed confidence in digital systems, with some patients preferring phone or face-to-face contact
- Information displays and signage would benefit from being clearer and more consistent
